The College of Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage and Industry Management students exhibit professionalism by wearing a standardized uniform during their FSM4061 Advanced Food Service Operations Management laboratory classroom.
FSM4061 Laboratory Classroom Uniform
The standardized uniform during FSM4061 Advanced Food Service Operations Management laboratory classroom includes:
- Chef pants (standard university-issue only), hemmed
- Chef jackets (standard university-issue only)
- Chef hat (standard university-issue only) — refer to the College of Food Innovation & Technology Uniform Policy
- Apron (standard university-issue)
Students may purchase these uniform items online through a portal designated for JWU students or from the JWU bookstore.
Students must provide the following to accompany the chef uniform:
- White t-shirt; no lettering, design or insignia
- Black shoes (standard university-issue or equivalent: oil-resistant, non-skid, closed-toe and back, lace or loafer)
- White socks (above-ankle, plain, no stripes or emblems)
Students must provide the following items for the front of the house/dining room uniform:
- Black dress skirt (knee length) or black dress slacks, full-length, straight-legged (no leggings, yoga pants, or jeans)
- Black dress shirt
- Black belt
- Black socks (above-ankle, plain, no stripes or emblems)
- A university-approved hair restraint must be worn if hair touches shirt collar. No additional hair adornments are permitted in the classroom (e.g., scarves, ribbons, beads).
